The final Manitoban Universe Decides photoshoot for 2021! The weather is cooling off quickly, so Jill and I took advantage of my only available week this month so we could have one last adventure! This time we found ourselves under a little bridge!

While in Phoenix I had the pleasure of photographing the man, the myth, the legend: Jonny Edward - an amazing portrait photographer from Denver, Colorado! I’ve always admired Jonny’s work, so to be asked to photograph him was an absolute treat!! We threw him in one of my spangly robes and set to work with a saucy OIiphant Backdrop!

Last week I had the pleasure of partaking in The Portrait Masters as a mentor, model and photographer! It was an incredible week full of incredible people and here are a few things I learned!

I just got back from a 3 day retreat just outside the city and I did a lot of thinking about why we have a hard time taking time for ourselves.

There’s this belief that if we aren’t making money doing it, then we aren’t it and that’s just bulldoodoo. If you move your body to music/rhythm (even if its your own) then you ARE a dancer - don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!

Sue Bryce introduced me to Chrissy first on instagram and then in person in Arizona and I knew immediately that I would loooove to photograph her! Thankfully she said yes, and I got to do quick session in our makeshift outdoor set and make magic in the Arizona heat!

On my last day in Arizona, Sue Bryce arranged for me to photograph some glorious humans that she knew and the first one up is Ms. Karianne, a photographer from Arizona! We had an amazing time in the hot Arizona sun - I could shoot in this light all day ‘erryday.

On a rainy day in August, Micah and I embarked on creating a one person tea party in the park near my house. Featuring an iconic Selkie puff dress, Micah made some friends with the local wildlife and slayed this session.

When Marcella applied for my Dig Deep model call last year we were excited to explore Empowerment 2.0 - as a past client, she had already had the traditional boudoir experience, so it was a great opportunity for her to explore the next level and see herself as the stunning, lovely human she is.

I am in love with all things pastel, floral, and princessy these days, so I convinced my lovely client Sam to join me outside for a fun filled afternoon at Assiniboine Forest!

I have been waiting to get my backdrops outside, but every time I tried the prairie winds would get in the way! Well, with the help of some friends and a glorious sunny day, we were able to create some magic outdoors!

I asked Micah if she wanted to be a princess for a few hours. We put her in one my Mr. Pretty dresses and headed over to the Trappist Monastery Ruins in St. Norbert to frolick. We had some epic clouds and beautiful wind as we created this gorgeous fairytale.

When Natalie came in for her session, I underestimated just how much joy she would bring to the studio. We moved soooo much and captured so many glorious images of this goddess I can’t wait to share!
