Just a Bunch of Self Portraits - 6.25

Someone had commented on one of my images that I reminded them of Loie Fuller and so naturally I had to go research who this bad ass was. Well, turns out Loie Fuller is the creator of the Serpentine dress and dance - the use of fabric to create stunning shapes and designs while dancing. I was immediately inspired by her outfit and figured I could recreate the aesthetic with some chiffon (silk runs at $50/meter!) and some curtain rods. I headed to Marshall’s Fabrics, picked up 15 ft of Chiffon and sewed it together to create this magical garment. A few things I learned: Fabric is heavier than you think it is, make sure your ribbon isn’t too tight around the neck or you will panic, and it’s not as easy as Loie makes it look.
