Digital Detox at the Lazy Days Lodge

Earlier this month I had booked a little staycation at The Lazy Days Lodge, a glorious cabin in Lac Du Bonnet, owned and operated by one of my previous Glambassadors, Jamie Pfau. Her and her husband use this property as a means to make income to support their amazing initiative to provide safe housing for people aging out of foster care and women and children fleeing domestic violence. When she reached out to me letting me know about this amazing space, I knew I had to book it.

The original plan was to organize a Digital Detox, but since it was hot on the heels of when I got back from Body Image Bootcamp, it turned into a girls weekend with my best friend Stephanie and my new friend Melissa! During the 5 days that we were there, we got dumped with a huge snowstorm and being in this majestic log cabin in the middle of a white out blizzard made me feel like I was living my Hallmark fantasies…. this country girl turned city girl turned country girl just needed the ornery good looking chap with a hard exterior and soft heart to show up and teach her the small town ways. (I mean, the local guy who clears the driveway stopped by to make sure I was a legit renter so I guess that’s something….)

Naturally, I didn’t want to waste the beautiful space so I did some self portraits before my friends showed up and in true Digital Detox fashion for myself, I spent the time beading, reading, and eating!

(I highly recommend that you give this place a go the next time you want to stay somewhere in Manitoba - not only is it for a good cause, but it is also one of the most amazing homes I’ve ever seen! PLUS I COULD SPIN AROUND IN THE TUB AND COVER MY BOOBS, TUM, AND LEGS AT THE SAME TIME!!!!)
