Kylie & Mr. Bowin
Post Partum shoots can be a really important part of the healing process for humans as they navigate life with their new little being. Our society is so fixated on birth being a celebratory experience that moms aren’t given the space to explore less than desireable aspects of the experience and all of the complicated emotions that come along AFTER baby is born. Kylie wanted to do a “9 Months Out” session and while it was beautiful to capture the bonding with her and Bowen, I think she also appreciated the opportunity to talk about her experience with motherhood.
Vintage Vibes
Right after we got out of lockdown, Jill and I rearranged the studio, so naturally needed to shoot on it. We also wanted to play with the yummy afternoon light that filters through the windows. Relax, settle in and enjoy these vintage vibes.
She is Mine and I am Hers.
The relationship between sisters is like no other. When Ryon and Regan come to play, we know it’s always going to be fire!
Let Boys Be Feminine
(if they want to)
Clothing has no gender and textures can help you find out who you are! In this session, I photographed Brian in a few glorious gowns and skirts to show that all bodies can wear whatever they want and everyone deserves to safely explore different ways of showing up! At our Winnipeg studio, this is a MUST - safety, security and comfort are all the name of the game so you can show up as your best self -whatever that looks like to you!
POWER IS FOR EVERYONE
As photographers we are trained to photograph in a very binary way - this can make it feel like we are forcing our clients into a very specific box - one that may not feel comfortable to them. In this session, we broke the box because power is not reserved only for men.
