Kylie & Mr. Bowin

It’s very rare that I have little humans in my studio, but when I do, lemme tell ya - it’s always a treat. I think photographing momma’s with their little creations within the 1st year of giving birth is incredibly important to the healing process. Having this time together and having someone to hold space for their experience, honest truth, and raw feelings towards the process of birth is so important because so many moms feel like they can’t share certain things about their experience, as birth should only be celebratory! This unfortunately causes moms to feel isolated and alone which is neither good for mom nor her baby(ies). My approach is simply to let babies and momma just be and exist and cuddle and be and I will document the experience so when Kylie wanted to do a “9 months out” shoot with her little dude, we got together right before the most recent lock down and had some fun in the studio. Kylie has started a blog and instagram account where she shares her experience of being a first time momma and you should definitely give her a follow!
