I met Carson through instagram when he responded to a model call and as a photographer himself, I knew I could take a little more creative liberty. While Carson was a little nervous at first (I mean, really, who isn’t?) Sandy helped calm his nerves with a little skin care routine before we got to shooting. Once we started shooting, Carson was an absolute natural and I loved the oufits he brought for us to work with - it was such a good variety. I always encourage clients to bring a)anything that makes them feel like the best version of themselves and b)multiple things to get into a variety of different vibes because at the end of the day we are so much more than the flat version we might see ourselves as. I had a lot of fun channeling some J Biebs hand gestures and eyebrow raises, creating some flower pockets, and playing with neons. Since Carson is also a photographer, I wanted to play with that a little and shoot him on a “photography studio set” featuring the backdrop stand, rolled up backdrop, etc. that is usually out of frame. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy the images below and don’t forget to check out Carson’s post session interview at the end to see him talk about his experience!
