Miriam

I have been following Miriam on instagram for awhile (her instagram is @hello_darling_co - you should definitely give her a follow!) and her feed always brings me so much joy because of the way she infuses color & shapes & textures. You see, Miriam is a really cool local designer here in Winnipeg and in fact, her and I spoke on the same panel years ago, talking about the ups and downs of running a small business. I think what finally made me reach out to Miriam in regards to doing a session was the fact that she doesn’t shy away from clothes that might make people look bigger than they are - in fact - the purpose of many of her items is to encourage people to take up their right to space! From glorious big velvet headbands to show stopping functional pieces like her super popular Nati dresses, her zest for all the colors is infectious! Naturally, with a mission like that PLUS all the aesthetic glory of it all, I KNEW I needed her in front of my lens. Since I was so inspired by her use of color, Jill and I stopped at the grocery store on the way to the studio and grabbed some gorgeous spring flowers and a bunch of vibrant fruit to really bring this session home. This session challenged me a little in the editing department because I am usually more well known for darker, moodier vibes - so I appreciated knowing that I can also make photos pop when needed. Grab your sunglasses, turn down your phone’s brightness and enjoy because this just might be the BRIGHTEST photoshoot I have ever done!
