Alright, friends! Y’all keep saying you need to lose weight before you book your photoshoot, so I am here to help you do exactly that! Are you ready?? Follow these 7 simple steps and you will be in perfect shape for your session!

LET’S DO IT!

1. You can drop a quick 110+ lbs…. by ditching the partner/”friend”/family member that makes you feel like shit, less confident, and undesirable because of your body. If they are not here to champion you at any weight, they have no business being in your glorious world.

2. Simply reduce….the weight of other people’s opinions about how you should/should not look - including your own. This is the weight that is keeping you from doing something epic - not your relationship to gravity.

3. Trim….the accounts that you follow on social media to include a diverse array of bodies instead of one specific body standard. Bodies in all states, sizes, and shapes are worthy of being documented - the more you see it, the more you believe it.

4. Consume less….content. Particularly, reduce the amount of content that reaffirms the idea that only certain bodies are worthy of love & respect. This includes movies, tv shows, books, music, etc. Keep an eye out for passive body shaming.

5. Completely cut out…the belief that you have to be a certain size or shape to have beautiful images of yourself. As someone who has photographed thousands of bodies in all glorious representations, I can assure you that this is an unfounded belief.

6. Increase….your gratitude and positive self talk. Start recognizing what your body can do/is capable of. Start telling yourself you are beautiful and redefine what beauty actually is. Redirect your thoughts (check out past blog posts on how to do this!) and start being kind to yourself.

7. Hire a personal….photographer who understands the complex intersection of body image + photography so that you can feel confident that they will treat you and your body with the respect that you deserve.

The great news is, is that these steps can be completed relatively quickly, you just have to decide that you are worth it!
