Welcome to NO-vember!

This post is for all the lovely people-pleasers out there…including me! For the month of November, we are going to practice using the word NO more. Saying NO to the things that fall into our values, saying NO to the requests and asks from people that make us bitter, saying NO to people who devalue you and your work, etc. The word NO will be on the tip of our tongues this month, speaking truth to our authenticity and finally setting some boundaries around the things we’d rather NOT be doing.

I want you to grab your journal and answer the following questions to help you create some guidelines around what constitutes a “No!”:

  1. Who is someone you have a hard time saying no to?

  2. Are there specific things they ask you to do that make it hard to say no?

  3. What are you afraid of it you were to say no to that person?

  4. What are some opportunities that you have a hard time saying No to, even though you regret it afterwards?

  5. What does it feel like before you hesitantly say “YES!” ?

  6. How does it feel when you want to say “No” but say “Yes” instead?

  7. Where in your body do you feel it?

  8. Think of a time where you said NO! to something and everything worked out.

  9. Think of a time where you said YES! to something and you regretted it immediately:

  10. Come up with 3 different ways to say “No!” that makes you feel confident.

Saying “No” is not an easy feat, but I am excited to just getting you thinking about it a bit more in the coming months. Don’t feel bad about not going out (or staying in!) or declining an opportunity (or taking a different one), and remember that every time you say No! You are encouraging the Universe to show you signs when the timing is right.
