Sunday Phone Drop: 9.25

I'm lying in a double bed seperate from my husband in a cabin in Yellowstone Park and the sun is just starting to rise. Don't worry, we aren't fighting, our room just came with 2 double beds and we are independent sleepers. In any case, a week ago I was nestled at home spending time with my niece and my friends and now I'm half way across the US as I head towards Utah for the Unraveled Retreat. My husband and I have always wanted to take a trip to Yellowstone together and so this is a dream come true. On this journey, we also stopped by the International Peace Gardens where I had gone to camp a few times as a kid - both for music and for sports. Being back there rushed alllll the memories forward - we were even able to go to the actual camp sites and I told Ryan about the dances, the crushes, the efforts, and I teared up just thinking about it. After that, we stopped overnight in Bismarck, ND and the next day we headed to Red Lodge, Montana where we stayed in a cutie cabin and prepped for the drive through the mountains to Yellowstone. We drove up 11,000 ft above sea level on the Bear Tooth Highway and while the breathing was difficult, the sites were incredible! I even made Ryan stop so I could take some self portraits of us at the very top! It's been such a beautiful drive this far and we haven't killed each other yet - so win, win! Before I left on this journey, however, I made sure to go out to the cabin to see my mom, to invite my friends to my house and to rent a studio to do my self portraits + a lil shoot with Micah. It was a packed week, but one of the side effects I've come to expect with life on the road. As for what's coming up: spending sometime in Jackson Hole & Salt Lake City before heading up to the retreat!!
