Stillness
Stillness asks you to be present
to be with your Self
The Self you might be afraid of
And for that, Stillness gets delayed.
But the beauty of Stillness
is that she’s always there;
in the dew on the morning grass,
in scent of morning coffee,
in the feeling of a warm breeze on your cheek.
She doesn’t ask a lot
But we assume she wants our discomfort,
Our internal thoughts,
Our fears,
Our stressors,
and that if we stop long enough,
She’s going to make us look at them
But she simply wants us to
Stop
Look
Listen
Just like we learned as kids.
Stillness isn’t asking you to be introspective
She’s just asking you to
Be.
So watch an ant crawl across the cement,
enjoy the sound of the surf crashing against the shore,
look up at the clouds as they float by,
marvel at the communication the birds seem to have with the morning sun,
and just
Be
Still.
