European Adventures: Geneva

My European adventure began with a flight from Winnipeg - Toronto - Zurich - Geneva where I would meet up with my friend Aroha who would be joining me for the remaining 3 weeks of the journey. I had never been to Geneva, so was excited to walk around and explore the beauty that the city had to offer because I only had 2 days before taking the train down to Venice. We were pleased to find that our airbnb was located next to a pizza place AND a patisserie so we had the pleasant experience of being able to get some delicious food easily enough just down the street. The other things I loved about our little space was that we had a cute little balcony that looked over the street and we ended up doing a small photoshoot with Aroha there. With our full day we started the morning off sourcing some eggs benedict and found ourselves eating at the Ritz Carlton on the waterfront - boy, did we feel fancy. After that, we took a bus tour around the city - the hop on/hop off bus tours are some of the best ways to see a lot of a city when you are short on time! As we were whisked around the city the thing that stood out to me most was the immense amount of buildings dedicated to progressive, future focused companies. Since Geneva is home to a lot of diplomatic work, this wasn’t surprising, but seeing all the buildings and initiatives was kind of cool. Later in the day, we took in a boat tour so that we could see the city from the water. Overall, Geneva was a beautiful city and I know there are a few things I would have liked more time to explore, so we will keep it in mind for future trips/stop overs.

Check back tomorrow for Part 2: Venice!!
