Communication Methods for Healers
Listen up, Healers! Connecting to the motivation behind your medium is going to help you feel more aligned in your business and as such, I wanted to start with helping you out with a few communication methods to take your relationship with your clients/customers to the next level. Communication with clients is necessary to setting appropriate expectations, making sure everyone is there for the right reason, and helping you mitigate an unhappy client.
Here are five ways creative healers can communicate more effectively with their clients, using healing as the central motivation:
Personalized Communication Channels
Offer one-on-one or small group conversations to create deeper, personalized connections. Whether through voice messages, phone calls, or video chats, speaking directly to a client’s unique healing needs builds trust and ensures that the communication resonates on a deeper, emotional level. Hearing a person’s voice helps reduce the anxiety significantly, so voice notes will be helpful!Storytelling for Empathy
Share personal healing stories or client success stories (with permission). When clients hear stories of healing that they can relate to, it opens the door for greater vulnerability and connection. This helps clients feel understood and supported in their own healing journey. This is also great for building your testimonial library. The more diversity you have in your client testimonials the more people you can heal!Healing-Centered Language
Use gentle, nurturing, and empowering language. Instead of using jargon or overly technical terms, speak in terms that evoke peace, hope, and transformation. Words like “release,” “growth,” “wholeness,” and “alignment” appeal to the healing experience, making clients feel safe and cared for. My friend Jade Beall, a photographic healer, loves to use words like “ritual” and “ceremony” in regards to the experiences that she offers.Incorporating Rituals into Communication
Speaking of rituals…offer healing-oriented rituals in the form of guided meditations, breathing exercises, or journalling prompts as part of your communication. The email sequence & questionnaires that are part of The Body Image Suite for Photographers do this exact thing! Same thing with the included Client Maintenance Manual for follow-up. Sending regular practices or healing exercises via email, text, or social media can keep clients engaged and connected with the healing process in a gentle, consistent way.Inviting Open Dialogue
Create spaces (like group calls, live sessions, or healing circles) where clients can ask questions, express concerns, and share experiences. When I had my studio, I would host round table discussions to let people chat about their body image experiences. It let them know that their healing is a partnership, and their voice matters. This cultivates a two-way communication model where clients feel seen and valued.
