film

I am so excited to share all the film I shot in the last month. There’s images from Italy, Switzerland, Alaska, and home! There’s something so awesome about shooting film that digital will never be able to capture and I think that is: anticipation. When I shoot film, I can’t see my image immediately to know if it “turned out” or if I should take 5000 more to get a “good one” - I have to trust that I got what I got is good enough and wait to find out. The images that you see here are from 3 different cameras and a handful of different kinds of film, most of it is expired! Some of these images come from point and shoot style cameras and 1 SLR camera - all of them have their own unique flair. I’m still uncertain whether the underexposed images are from the camera or from the expired film. Every time I say I am going to jot down the information so that way I know for when it’s developed, but to be honest, I’m just not that kinda gal. I’d rather just see what happens - even if it doesn’t turn out. I don’t shoot film for perfection - I shoot it to slow down. To try something new. To have to wait. To be excited.
