Sky High & Red Hats: Photo Essay

I found a red hat at the thrift store for a dollar and was inspired to create an urban cowboy kinda shoot. I reached out to one of my muses, Attieh, and told her my idea and she was totally into it AND the perfect person for this shoot. I wasn’t too sure what specifically I wanted to shoot, but as with most muse shoots we just saw where it took us. As a model/actress, Attieh is no stranger to “becoming” a character and so I knew I could push her beyond “pretty” and “sexy” for these images. Standardly when we see women featured in the cowboy aesthetic, it’s usually from a “sexy” almost comical standpoint but I wanted to capture these in the way we see men usually photographed with the cowboy aesthetic: gritty, lots of texture, confident, a little aggressive, etc. For my creative projects going forward, I think you might see a lot of this from me.
