Mexico on Film

I received my film scans back from Don’s Photo regarding my time in Mexico last month and I’m a little sad - not because of the film that was returned, but rather because a lot of the film wasn’t due to my backpack having been stolen when we got to Puerto Vallarta. In addition to my film, I lost all my camera equipment sans my old film cameras (clearly they didn’t think they were worth anything). The bright side is that I have been wanting a new camera, so this was my opportunity and at least I had my film camera to capture some memories while I was away. While I can’t get the other memories back, they will exist in my mind rent free. But all is not lost, below are some of the magical memories I made - first with Beth, then at Body Image Bootcamp, and then when my family came down to PVR to visit.

Mexico offers so much texture and some of the most beautiful light (it rivals Arizona light!) and I could have enjoyed just wandering the streets for hours collecting little bits and pieces of the city - while I love photographing humans as well, there’s something about capturing the light, the shadows, and the combination of bright colors and weathered homes that really lights me up inside. If you’ve never been to Mexico, I highly recommend it and if you have, I encourage you to see it in details the next time you go. Also, I encourage you to join us for our epic photo workshop or the always popular BIBC next year and we can go image hunting together!!
