The “What the F*ck Do I Wear?” Wardrobe Guide

The true answer is: whatever makes you feel the most like yourself

For so long women have been told what they “should” wear to be sexy, what they “need” to look like to be loved, and what they “shouldn’t” do in order to be respected - well, here at THP Studios, I say fuck that. This is THE place where you can lean into being the best version of yourself whatever that looks like to you. I don’t want to make you into someone you are not and I want to help you celebrate all of the quirks and loveliness that makes you YOU. This guide is more to provide you with expectations in regards to my shooting space, the set designs, and the overall vibe of my sessions so you can make sure it is, in fact, the right fit for you!

I want you to know that this session is less about your wardrobe and more about you, but I understand the anxiety of not knowing what to wear is prevalent. Pretty much every client has expressed their concern about what they should wear for their boudoir experience, so I am here to steer you in the right direction.

What I Won’t Shoot.

While this may sound harsh, I think it’s important to set these expectations up front. In my experience the following items are usually brought in an effort to dress up for someone else or to distract from the body and I am not here for it. Even if your partner gets the privilege of seeing these images afterwards this experience is only about you, first and foremost.

*JERSEYS: they are big, bulky and you are not a product, my dear. Unless you wear a jersey often and it makes YOU feel sexy, we won’t be utilizing it. You deserve to show off your assets. If you still want to rep your favorite sport team, I recommend getting a small tshirt or tank top/crop top.

*MEN'S SHIRTS: similar to the jersey thing, if YOU wear men’s dress shirts that’s totally cool, but if you are doing it for someone else then I am going to suggest we opt for something slightly different. That being said, if you like the idea of the classic white shirt, opt for a woman’s fitted sheer fabric white shirt instead.

*CORSETS: these limit posing immensely and while they make the waist look cinched, everything else has to go somewhere. 1 wrong move and your boob will fall into your face or armpit. If you like this renaissance vibe, I suggest waist cinchers that are PROPERLY fitted.

Bodysuits

Bodysuits are one of my favorite items to photograph because literally everyone that puts one on feels like Beyonce. These can be lacy and racy, sheer, sporty, or sassy. You can find them in most lingerie shops even most clothing shops!

Bra & Panty Sets

Coordinating bra & panty sets are usually a hit with my clients and can be found pretty much anywhere you buy your undies. High waisted panties are usually the most comfortable for many people and for me, I would rather you wear lingerie/clothes that you would normally wear around the house - BUT if traditional lingerie DOES make you feel fabulous then absolutely bring it!!

Lounge sets

Bralettes & lounge sets are super cute and beautiful. They also tend to be more comfortable than traditional lingerie and can really create a homey kinda vibe.

Sports Bras & Panties

This is one of my favorite looks because it is more akin to what people wear around the home. It is effortless and sexy at the same time. Plus, these types of sets can come in a variety of different panty shapes to accentuate whatever part you want! Calvin Klein offers extended sizing up to 3x, but Playful Promises, Shein, and Fashion Nova have similar styles up to 5X!

Kimonos & Robes

Kimonos and robes are some of my favorite articles to shoot because they can coordinate with underthings or be worn with nothing underneath. They provide movement, color, and texture to your photos (all the things I love to create with!!)

Tank tops & T-shirts

Many of my clients opt to wear a tank top or tshirt that makes them feel empowered & confident. One of my favorite ways to end a session is with a ripped, wet tank top - so if this is something you want to incorporate during your shoot, lemme know!

Crop tops & Jeans

Day to day wardrobe can help you truly document yourself as you ARE. It can still be sexy, look confident, or inspire a natural kinda vibe - all which are fab!

Dresses

If the lingerie route isn’t for you, you can totally opt for your favorite dress or skirt/shirt combo to make you feel empowered! The idea behind these sessions is to help you step into documenting who YOU see yourself.

Jackets

Similar to robes & kimonos, jackets are a great way to show off your personality! We have super extra jackets with fringe, sparkle, and sequin - but if you have a jacket that makes you feel super spectacular, bring it along!!

SHOW ME YOUR VISION.

And you don’t have to just wear clothes if you want to be adventurous…

At the end of the day, the wardrobe is just the icing on the cake - YOU are the main event! We want you to have fun, play, frolic, dance, strut, and take up space and we will help you do that!
