I was the little kid that would constantly ask “Why?”
All. The. Time.

My parents settled in for endless Qs.
Teachers sighed & reprimanded me.
Managers rolled their eyes & called me a troublemaker.
But I couldn’t help it.

I

I thought my guilt & anxiety came from behaviors or thoughts I was having…
but it turns out, it’s coming from my fear of disappointment.

Having someone disappointed in me feels worse than someone being mad at me.

Because anger says

There are places where my whole body expands with relief.
Where I feel wide and alive and a wee bit magical.
