FROM THE ARCHIVES: Being Human With Micah 12.5.2020

[As my old website sets to expire I am bringing some of my favourite posts over here - so as not to waste the wisdom & beauty!]

This fall I convinced Micah to drive out to my mom’s cabin while I was out there to let me photograph her nekid body on the glorious whiteshell rocks. I am so blessed to have access to this space and so blessed to have such a confident and brave soul trust my vision. I’ve been waiting to share them, waiting for the words, but then…

I came across this glorious poem on TikTok the other day and I just knew I needed to share it with y’all. When I photograph bodies in nature, this poem is what I think of. Seeing the beauty in the cracks and curves and lines and depths of nature allows us to appreciate these same things within ourselves - after all, we were all created by the same magic.

Feel free to press play to have me “read” the poem as you scroll through the images!
